Women in WWII

Before the war started women held the lowest paying jobs and some did not even work. When World World II started, it cost a labor shortage. The country called on the women to fill the shortage. The women had a lot to do with the building up of the war machine. Some may have not gone to actual war but they had their own war. Even though working was good for the women, they still had to fight the emotional war of how society was starting to treat them. The idea that war allowed the women idea “got out of hand”. - Nelda P.
